In 2016, after being reinvented in 2010 as a weekly glossy magazine, it was time to update the look of The Hollywood Reporter. In my then role as Art Director, I led the charge to get this ambitious project done. Along with Creative Director Shanti Marlar and Design Director Peter Cury, we shaped the new visual identity of The Hollywood Reporter magazine, including new typefaces, a new grid, a new color scheme, and more.
Pages shown here laid out by our design team at THR after the redesign was implemented: Fah Sakharet, Christopher Hawkins, Nicholas Brawley, Peter Cury, Shanti Marlar, and me.
The last month of the year is always one of the busiest times at The Hollywood Reporter, with our largest print issues and multiple special awards issues. On top of it all is this massive package outlining all of our picks for the year’s Oscar contenders. Awards editor Rebecca Ford and I whipped this up, as we and our teams have done every year for the last 4(?) years, amidst all the chaos!
