Thanks to jury duty, I finished my 11th book of 2019, the 600-page sci fi epic Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky in about two weeks. My short bullet-point review:
RATING — 4 out of 5
COVER ART RATING — 3 out of 5
PROS
♦ well developed futuristic world that didn’t leave me scratching my head at the science behind it
♦ intriguing premise, wildly different from anything I’ve seen or read before
♦ quick and easy to read
CONS
♦ strange names, almost to the point of being distracting
♦ not terribly humorous or dramatic or emotionally engaging
Would I recommend? Yes, but only to people I already know enjoy science fiction.
